Thursday Evening Update

Luke's left lung collapsed again this afternoon. It seems as if every time we have good news, Luke faces another challenge so we are asking for your prayers again. The doctors have inserted chest tubes and are continuing to adjust Luke's medications and ventilator settings in an effort to stabilize him again.

I would ask all of you say the prayer to St. Gerard on behalf of Luke.

Prayer to Saint Gerard

St. Gerard, who, like the Savior, loved children so tenderly and by your prayers freed many from disease and even death, listen to us who are pleading for our sick child. We thank God for the great gift of baby Luke and ask him to restore Luke to health if such be his holy will. This favor, we beg of you through your love for all children and mothers. Amen.

Erika and Russell are hanging in there but they are in need of our prayers too. Please ask God to give them strength and comfort as they deal with emotional ups and downs caused by the signs of hope and the challenges that Luke faces on a daily and sometimes hourly basis.

I would also like to ask all of you to say the prayer to St. Luke tonight to ask God to guide the doctors and nurses who are caring for Luke.

Prayer to Saint Luke

Most charming and saintly Physician, you were animated by the heavenly Spirit of love. In faithfully detailing the humanity of Jesus, you also showed his divinity and his genuine compassion for all human beings. Inspire our physicians with your professionalism and with the divine compassion for their patients. Enable them to cure the ills of both body and spirit that afflict so many in our day. Amen.

This is a beautiful verse:
Peter 1:6-7
"In this you rejoice, although now for a little while you may have to suffer through various trials so that the genuiness of your faith, more precious than gold that is perishable even by fire, may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ."
My favorite is my bible verse for our ACTS retreat, two years ago this month. The verse is fitting for all of your family at this time:
1 Peter 5:7
"Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you."

ERIKA,
Know that your little angel, Luke Michael, is on prayer lists all over the country. God has your family in the palm of his hands, and will give you peace.
We will continue to pray for all of you.
God Bless,
ANNA LEE DAIGLE (CELESTE GUIDRY'S MOM)

Little Luke is fighting so hard to stay here with us - what an amazing child he is! Surely he feels the love of his very special family surrounding him. My thoughts and prayers are with ya'll constantly. Love, Candy.
