Hi Beckas! We have moved to Colorado and are far away in miles but know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all, especially Luke. God will watch over him and we are praying that HE will give Luke the strength to hang in there and grow stronger every day. We are keeping up with you all through the blog and I am happy that someone is doing this for you. If there is anything we can do please let us know. Also, I have added you all to the Denver Diocese prayer chain for the Respectlife and Gabriel Project groups so you have alot of prayers coming your way. Be strong, we love you all, The Petersens, Mike, Darcy, Will and Claire

You gave me a rosary on retreat and a note to learn to say the Divine Mercy Chaplet. I am using it to pray for Luke and all of your family.
We will continue to ask God to give each of you strength and comfort and to hold you in his arms.

Welcome, little guy. We know you are having trouble now, but you are fighting and we are praying for you every day. We pray for your Mommie and Daddy too. We hope that we will get a chance to meet you someday soon. We promise to oooh and aaah until you are sick of us. Until then, we ask God to send Mary and His angels to watch over you night and day.

Hey Russel and Erika. Sorry to hear the little guy had a bad day. Don't worry, I'm sure he's a fighter! Keep your heads up, he needs positive energy from his mommy and daddy. Maria is at adoration right now, I'm sure praying for Luke. I have been doing the same throughout the day. I missed the boys soccer game tonight (bad foot at the hospital!) but Maria said they did well. Tell Luke that uncle Alex wants to see him soon. Love you guys.

Hey Becka Family...Baby Luke Michael is beautiful. I'm making a copy of his picture to hang up in our prayer corner. We will be devoting a Rosary, a Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and of course, Prayer to St. Michael each and every day to little Luke. Jesus' arms are wrapped around you all....what a miracle of Love. Sherry Crandell and the boys!

Dear Becka Family,

You are continually in our hearts and prayers. We are praying the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy every day for your whole family, but especially for baby Luke who is a tiny and beautiful child of God.
We pray that Luke will grow in size, strength, and health each day. We also pray that you will be surrounded with the love, peace, and hope that only our loving God can give. Know that you are also surrounded by the love and prayers of countless friends and even people whom you have never met, but who are still praying for you. Thank you for sharing the precious pictures of Luke and the rest of your family. We feel closer to him and to all of you each day. We eagerly look forward to the day when we can see Luke in person with his wonderful, devoted family.
Blessings,
Bob & Mary Gorman

Erika & Russell-
My heart hurts for you and your family. I look at the pictures of Luke and see Ethan. While our roads led us on different paths, the emotions...ups, downs, good days, bad days...were similar, I'm sure. There were so many days I struggled to put on a smile while visiting Ethan, but knew, as you did, that our little guys needed positive vibes instead of tears. I spent all day and night by his side, documenting his journey, much as you did. Words of encouragment were offered by the nurses and doctors when appropriate, but with those also came words of reality. Many times, I called Kevin unable to speak from crying because of news the doctor had given me. Going through "life in the NICU" is nothing I wish upon anyone. Several people would comment on how great it was to not have gained the water weight...I quickly corrected them by saying I would have gained pound after pound if it meant staying away from the NICU.
I can not even imagine your feelings right now. I know that my story could have ended the same way yours did, and it makes my entire body hurt to have that thought. I have been thinking about you since Kevin told me of Luke's arrival, hoping and praying he would be strong and grow at his own pace in the NICU. I am so, so, sorry about your loss. I know Luke is with you still today and will be in your hearts forever. He will be watching you every day, sending hugs and kisses your way!! He knew you were with him, holding him gently in your arms, when he passed and, most importantly, Luke knew his mommy and daddy loved him very much!
All My Love-Jessica Walker
